First Day

Welcome to a year of writing! This course is all about reading and writing, so get ready for all the fun!
For next class please do the following:

1. Sign up for REMIND

2. Print out Syllabus (the last page must be completed and signed by you and your parent/guardian) and turned in to me next class. 

3. Print out "How to Say Nothing in 500 Words" MUST BE annotated with marginal notes, not just highlight. Also, pick out three quotes that stand out to you and be ready to explain them and why they stood out. 

4. Finish your lock and really take into account your partner and what they stand for based on your short discussion with them and your interview. If it looks like you took 5 minutes on it and didn't really spend any time on it, then you will get an F AND your partner will be disappointed :(. (EXCEPT PERIOD 6)

NOTE: Discussion is HUGE for this class and there will be participation points given throughout the semester. You must participate!

Looking ahead:
Materials will be due August 28/29
Summer Reading Assignment will be due 8/31, 9/1 (no late assignments will be accepted)
