Summer Reading is due next class. Make sure to revise your SOAPSTone now that you know how to do it. I will grade that!!! If you were absent, come to class with an Admit from the Attendance office, your annotated article, and the following questions completed. Make sure to use complete sentences. The essay MUST have a beginning, middle, and end. Also, you will need to present the lock that you created for your classmate.
In class, we presented the locks :) which came out beautiful! We also continued working on "How to Say Nothing in 500 Words" by answering the following questions: 1.What is Robert’s thesis in this essay? 2.What are Robert’s main points? How do his examples help him explain and clarify his main points? 3.Robert’s writing style is well-suited to his student audience; he includes examples that would be familiar to many students. How would you describe his writing style? What are some of the ways he uses narration and illustration to make the process analysis easy to follow? 4.Robert’s essay was first published in 1958- before personal computers and word processing programs became ubiquitous. Write a 3 paragraph essay in which you compare the process of writing an essay on a typewriter and on a computer. Some questions to answer in your essay are: How is the process similar? How is it different? How is the equipment different? Which do you prefer? Why? |
